We are organising the

11th International Conference on
“Function Spaces, Differential Operators, and Nonlinear Analysis”,
(FSDONA-2024)
September 22-28, 2024.
This meeting will continue the series of previous successful FSDONA-conferences held in Finland, Czech Republic and Germany,

It is again our intention to stimulate international collaboration and to promote the interaction of the theory of function spaces with its applications to various fields of mathematics.

The conference is essentially funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), no. Ha 2794/9-1 and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

We expect about 75 participants, almost all of them on site in Oberhof. Now we would like to give you the latest information.

  1. Arrival

    2. Oberhof has direct bus connections from Suhl/Zella-Mehlis and Gotha. Both cities can be reached within approximately 3 hours by train from the big airports in Berlin and Frankfurt/Main. So usually you will need to use both, trains and busses, to come to Oberhof. Please visit our website https://fsdona2024.uni-jena.de/travel.html for further details. We try to arrange that someone will welcome you at the bus station in Oberhof, please look for the conference poster. If you do not find us there, you may also walk yourselves to the hotel, it will take you about 10 minutes (please have a look at the map on the travel page). We may also organise a few shuttles from Zella-Mehlis to the hotel if needed. In that case we need to know your estimated arrival time in advance and ask you to inform us about the details in your earliest convenience, but not later than September 10, 2024.

    On Sunday evening (September 22, 2024) we start with a joint dinner available between 18:00 and 21:00. As every (following) day it will be prepared in buffet form. If you come late or do not want to take part in it, please inform us in advance, that we can smoothly arrange everything. Departure is planned for Saturday, September 28, 2024, after breakfast. For those of you coming by car, free parking is available directly at the hotel.

  2. Conference Schedule

    3. The lectures start on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 9:00, and will end on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 18:00. The scientific programme is available via https://fsdona2024.uni-jena.de/talks.html. Nevertheless we shall send a separate email to all of you having a talk on the first day.

    The lecture rooms will be equipped with data projector + laptop, and flip chart. There will also be an opportunity for ad hoc -seminars. For those of you, using the data projector, talks should be prepared in a pdf file preferably. To avoid last minute problems, you may send us the pdf file of your talk by September 20, 2024 (this applies especially to speakers on the first day).

    We shall contact those of you, who need to give their talk online, for further details.

    Wednesday afternoon is reserved for the excursion to Gotha or the Hiking tour, details you can find in the second announcement. You have already indicated your interest to take part in it. The excursion to Gotha, including the guided tour and some contribution to the travel expenses (bus) sums up to 30€ per person. The contribution should be paid in cash at the conference registration in the hotel.

    We shall have a special conference dinner on Wednesday evening.

  3. Registration

    4. The conference office (located in the foyer of the hotel) will be open on Sunday afternoon from 15:00 until late, and on Monday morning starting at 8:00. You will get the conference material and also acknowledgements of receipt there.

    Note that the editorial deadline for our abstract booklet is September 10, 2024. So any changes of the titles/abstracts of your talks cannot be updated in the booklet afterwards. Please, check as well whether we collected the correct affiliation(s) of you, they will appear in the same way as on our web page https://fsdona2024.uni-jena.de/participants.html. Moreover, we plan to include your email address in the participant’s list in the printed abstract booklet. If you mind us doing so or want to display another one than the one we use for our correspondence with you, please inform us immediately.

    The hotel has free wifi access, you will get further details at the reception after arrival.

    Just keep in mind, please: there was no need and no possibility to book your accommodation and conference package directly in the hotel yourself, this was organised by us. Unless you have informed us in advance (not to stay in the hotel), you are expected in the conference hotel and have to cover cancellation fees there otherwise. Similarly, if there is some change in your arrival or departure dates, please inform us at your earliest convenience, to avoid or reduce such cancellation fees in that case.

  4. Lecture Notes

    5. Instead of (usual, printed) Proceedings we plan to offer all speakers of this workshop the possibility to send us their material, slides, links to closely related publications etc. afterwards. We collect all this material and “publish” it on a special web page of this workshop such that participants can download the files. You may contact us if you have any questions.

    6. The Conference will take place in

    Wagners Sporthotel Oberhof, Oberhof (Thüringen)

    situated in a beautiful forest landscape in the green heart of Germany.

    The accommodation is arranged in double and single rooms or in guesthouses with full board (buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner) according to your registration. We shall inform those of you who share a room with another participant in advance. The accommodation should be paid directly to the hotel before your departure (unless we have special agreements with you).

    We have a few participants who arrive later, depart earlier or do not stay in the hotel, but take part as daily visitors in the conference. To arrange everything smoothly in advance, in particular all the meals, we ask all of you who do not stay there for the complete period, to inform us at your earliest convenience, but not later than September 10, 2024, in which meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) you want to take part in your arrival/departure days. This applies in particular for the daily visitors.
